Drove to Ashton "Homewood" & Riverside (Willie with me) dined at Riverside. Afternoon drove to Leawood Mills & got pair "Muscovy" ducks. Went to Wm S BondsMary B Thomas walked over to help Helen "fix up". Afternoon Jane G Bentley took Charley to make "New Years calls". He went again after supper driving "Jeff". Dr Sam Scott and bro: Walter called.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 2, 1881 Snow fell 4 inches deep in the night & continued until after Sun rise. Charley drove me to Wm S Bond's & Fredrick Stabler's before dinner. Afternoon he took Dora for a Sleigh Ride. Harry Helen & baby dined at "Bloomfield" After tea Charley drove Helen over to Jos T Moores "business"
