to the Temple in the afternoon
payed Sir David a visit.
Back here
with Staff. & Sir E. Landseer;
he (Sir E.) brought with
him a very clever oil sketch
of Garibaldi done fr. re-
collection after seeing
him the day he came here,
which he has given Mother.
A large dinner here of 16,
in the [antre?] room; viz. Ld Clar-
endon; Argylls & Edith,
Kildare[s] & Gery, Hewitt; Sir
Edwin, Staff Charlie &
Harry Howard, & Loch.
Sir Edwin rather elated.

34 Guessing Kildares plural. With Ronnie and Mother, the party adds up to 16 if there are two Kildares.
