Thursday, December 29, 1948 - Uncle Brock might be a little better at least he isn't grunting as much. It sure has been cold today. It snowed a little but I guess it got too cold to snow long. Mr. Jones killed a hog today. Rex didn't feel like helping him so he got Mr. Downing to help in his place. John Marion came a little while. Rex went to the Doctor this afternoon & got some medicine. Rex had a little fever today. I got a letter from Ann Bufford. She said uncle Joe is about the same.
Wednesday, December 30, 1948 - Rex, Robert & I went to town today. Robert & I ate our lunch at Hugh's. I then went to the show. Robert didn't want to go to the show so he stayed with Rex while I went. We came by to see Jim a little while. Jim is better but still in the bed. The family is still uneasy about him. The Doctor says his blood has turned to water. I don't see how he can get much better. Mrs. Jones & Mary came a little while tonight. They want Rex to help Mr. Jones kill a hog. Rex will help if he is able. Rex has felt bad all day.
