Wednesday, December 15, 1948 - It has been raining today. Rex & I went to town this afternoon. Rex went to Mrs. Wilbur Chappeller's funeral. I didn't go to the funeral as I wanted to finish my Christmas shopping but I went to the funeral home a little while. She was at Harris Funeral Home. I saw Mrs. LeMan Greer the first time in years. We came by Jim's a little while. Evelyn is better. Jim is sick & in bed but some better.

Thursday, December 16, 1948 - I washed a large washing today. I ironed part of the things this afternoon. Uncle Brock isn't well. His feet is swolen worse the last few days than they ever have. He sleeps nearly all day & stays awake at night & keeps us awake. He will call us & often he doesn't know what he wants when we go to him. It sure is hard on us.
