Tuesday, December 7, 1948 - Jasper came early this Morning before any of us was up except Rex & told us Jessie died at 4:15 A.M. Robert didn't go to school today. Rex went to town this Morning. He came home at noon & said that Jessie was at Lawrence & Jean's. I went to Callie this Morning & told her Jessie was dead. Mrs. Jones came a little while this afternoon. Rex & I went to Lawrence's this afternoon. Rex went back to Lawrence's tonight. I stayed at home with Mother, Uncle Brock & Robert.

Wednesday, December 8, 1948 - Rex went to Lawrence's this Morning. I stayed at home & ate at home. Rex came back at noon. Rex & I went to Lawrence's. We went in the funeral possession to Browders Chuch to Jessie's funeral & buiral. Rev. O. T. Nichols, Pastor of Madisonville First Methodist Chuch, officiated, assisted by Rev. A. L. Fraser Hanson, Pastor of Browders Chuch. There was a large crowd at the funeral & an awful lot of flowers.
