Tuesday, May 9, 1944

We washed today and I painted a wash Stand this afternoon. Rex we'nt to town tis morning & got Robert's youth Bed. Robert slept in his bed & likes it fine.

Wednesday, May 10, 1944

I got part of my ironing done. I painted my hearth, the hearth in the kitchen & a wash Stand this afternoon.

Thursday, May 11, 1944

I finished ironing this morning. I painted Mother's hearth & the Refrigerator this afternoon.

Friday, May 12, 1944

We wahsed some this morning. I painted Mother's hearth & the ice cream freezer. I washed my head. I polished my slippers & also Robert's. Mrs. Jones came a little while. Ruby & Jasper came tonight. Jasper didn't Stay long and Dock came and Jasper we'nt to home cut Dock's hair.

Saturday, May 13, 1944

Rex took Mother, Robert & I to town this afternoon & he came home & worked. Rex took Robert to Jessie's I we'nt to Dr. Draper & had my teeth cleaned. I got a new dress. I got some Rugs for Mother's Room. We have Mother Drapes for her Room for "Mother's Day."

Sunday, May 14, 1944

Dock ate dinner here today. Robert, Rex & I took a drive this afternoon. Robert & I we'nt to Jim's. Evelyn is better. Mrs. McGrew, Lin & Jessie, Lanna, B.J and Jimmy were at Jim's.

Monday, May 15, 1944

Mother & Uncle Brack washed their clothes even if it Did Rain. Loyd came this afternoon & fixed our Kitchen screen door. Lawrence & Gene came late this afternoon & took supper with us. John & Alma & Monroe came tonight. I mowed the yard today. Mrs. Jones came a little while this afternoon.

Tuesday, May 16, 1944

I we'nt to Mrs. Jones a little while this morning. Robert we'nt with me. She wasn't at home. Mrs. Jones came a little while this afternoon & got some eggs to set. She said they we'nt to town today. I started making the drapes we gave Mother for Mother's Day.

Wednesday, May 17, 1944

We washed today. I worked on the drapes some this afternoon.

Thursday, May 18, 1944

Mrs. Jones came a little while this afternoon. I got part of the ironing done this morning. I mended part of the clothes & worked on the drapes some. Louis stayed all night with us. The seconed time since he has been working for Rex. He goes home at night.

Friday, May 19, 1944

I finished ironing mended part of the clothes & finished making the drapes. I read a little tonight. Dock ate dinner with us & also supper. He is helping Rex plant corn.

Saturday, May 20

I have done the general house work. Dock ate dinner with us. He is helping Rex plant corn. I sewed some this afternoon. I read some tonight.

Sunday 1944. May 21 I went to Grapevine to Sunday School with Callie Wiley this morning. Fred & Anna Belle came while I was gone & stayed a little while. Dock ate dinner with us. Harold Sisk came this afternoon. He will leave tomorrow for the Navy. Rex, Robert & I went to town late this afternoon & got some ice.

May 11 Mon. 1944 I have done the general house & mowed the yard today. It rained this afternoon. Lawrence & Gene came late this afternoon & ate supper with us.

May 23 Tuesday 1944 Mr. Jones, W. H. Daugherty and Louis were here for dinner. They helped Rex set tobacco. I cleaned & varnished my cabinet, cedar chest & a table for Mother. Miss Cassie Wiley came this afternoon.

Wed. 1944 May 24 We washed and I fixed two sheets for Robert this afternoon Loyd came this morning and hung the back porch screen door.

May 25 Thursday 1944 I got part of the ironing done. Mrs. Jones & Mrs. Frank McGrew cam this afternoon. I patched some and patched the back porch screen.

Friday 1944 May 26 Finished ironing. Callie Wiley came this afternoon. She brought me some flowers to set out. Robert & I went late this afternoon to Alma's and I went to Loyd's. Ruby & Jasper brought some eggs to set but didnt get but 5.

Saturday May 27 1944 Rex, Mother, Robert and I went to town this afternoon. Mother and Robert went to aunt Ernie's. Mother got new clock from Uncle Rus. Rex and I bought a new living room suite we both liked it, they will deliver it Monday.

Sun. May 28 1944 Callie came and asked us to go to Sunday school and church with her, but as Rex said he would take us to Browders we didn't go with Callie. Robert Rex, mother, and I went to Sunday school and church at Browders. the first time Robert had ever been to Sunday school. Mother, Robert, and I went to Mrs. Jones but they weren't at home this afternoon. Lin came a little while.

Mon. May 29 1944 Alma came this morning I went to Alma's about 11' o clock and helped her house clean. Lawerence and Gene didn't come this afternoon.

Tuesday May 30 1944 I went to Alma's again today and helped her house clean and I mowed a little in the yard when I got home.

Wed. May 31 1944 I haven't felt so well today so I didn't wash mother and uncle Brack washed some. I finished mowing the yard I fixed a sand pile for Robert. I don't have near as much sand as I want. Louise hung mother's swing in the front yard this afternoon.

Thursday June 1 1944 I washed a few pieces I don't feel so well today. I went to Callie's this afternoon I went to Miss Cassie's also and took uncle Brack's clothes for her to wash.

Friday June 2 1944 We washed today even if we ar not felling well. Robert was sick last night and today. He has had fever nearly all day. This afternoon Mrs. Jones came also.

Saturday June 3 1944 Louis and Rx went to town this afternoon but as Robert didn't feel well the rest of us stayed at home. Robert has been better Rex went to Dr. Finley and got him some medicine. We have done the general house work and I sewed a little this afternoon.

Sunday June 4 1944 Robert is much better. Rex, Robert, and I went to town this afternoon robert and I went to jessie's mother and uncle Brack stayed at home.

Monday June 5 1944 I ironed and have done the general house work. I painted the screen wire on 2 doors and 3 windows. John, Alma and Monroe came tonight.

Tuesday June 6 1944 We washed a large washing. Mrs Jones came this afternoon. I painted 2 faucets to keep them from leaking and the chains to one of the swings. Rex went to town tonight to the American Leigon meeting.

Wed. June 7 1944 I got most of my ironing done and mowed the yard. Dock ate dinner with us. He is helping Rex plant beans.
