Cloudy cool and pleasent
Standing along Coast of Greenland
about 20 miles distans At 10 AM
Cape burnt bore S, E 1/2 S Only one
Ice berg and 3 to 4 small pices of ice
in sight At 8 AM Pat Log 1233 miles
At 8.35 AM changed Course to N.E.
by E, high snow covered Mountains
in sight on Std beam passed
severall Ice berg during afternoon
At 3.50 PM sighted Disco Island
about 1/2 point on Std bow at 8 [pm]
Pat Log reading 1329, miles At 8 PM
stopped Engenes to attept to cross
head From 8 to 12 pm passed
considerable large Ice During afternoon
got up chains and tend the same
to anchors in preparation of going
into Port Godhaven The Sun rising
clear and beutifull at midnight
Only one hour of darkness being
noticed during the night
