Thursday March 31, 1921

A cloudy day. Ben & Jim cut wood all day. Josie made Mabel a dress. Josie got supper. She baked light rolls. They were fine. Henry & Edna went to school. I went to Marvins and worked button holes in Hazels and Evas dresses. I set a hen this evening. I wrote two letters this morning.

Friday April 1, 1921

A clear cool day. Jim and Ben cut some wood for flue wood. Josie ironed and sowed some. She made light rolls for supper. They were very nice.

I went to Marvins. I mended Floid Reynols coat. Henry and Edna went to school.

I gess I have burnt over a hundred papers today. Lizzie put them a way for her father. I though some one would burn them. If I did it would not trouble no one else and the children would not let them alone and Josie did not care.

Saturday April 2, 1921

A beautiful day. A big frost this morning. Jim and Ben hauled stalks this morning. Ben went with Marvin after a hound They went to Altavista. Josie staid here and ironed and got dinner and supper.

Edna and Franklin went to Mr Mayhews to play with the children. Henry and I went to White Falls. Henry caught 4 fish. I one. We come back by Renan. Stoped at Kate Harveys a little while. Went to the store. Hubbard was not there. Mollie Reynols and Christenia was there. Mollie said she intended to go to Portsmoth tonight to see Julia. Josie dressed a spring chicken to send to Julia. Love to all the children & grand children.

Sunday April 3, 1921

A beautiful day. We all staid at home until noon. Then Ben & family and I went to Strait Stone to preaching. Mr Padget preached. There was a big crowd. I though Jim staid at home. The calf got out of the pasture. Jim found her and brough her home.

We heard this morning that Mr Oaks a primtive Babtist preacher died this morning. I am very sorry. He will be missed so much.

Monday April 4, 1921

A good day. Ben & Jim plowed until dinner then Ben carried Josie & the two little children and I to Chatham. Josie and the children stoped at Nellies. Ben & I went to Mr Oaks burial. There was a large crowd there. Elder Boaz talked at the house and they sung a song at the grave. Heard that Mrs Mills died this morning. She was at her sisters when she died.

Henry and Edna went to school today. They stopped at Marvins and they eat supper there.
