A very cool day for May. We begin to need rain.

Ben & Jim & Henry worked tobacco all day. Mr John Baily eat dinner here to day. Ben & Jim & Henry has gone to the school house to night. A patrons meeting.

Josie ironed this morning. This evening she went to Marvins. Nettie Blair & Doris Brumfield and Ada Hutcherson come here this evening. Doris wanted water mellon seed.

We heard to day that Mrs Lucie Peak started to the hospitle at Roanoke.

I am glad that Franklin is a most well a gain.

A good day. Cool north east wind blowing. Henry & Ben went to Mr Hankins and got three of his little ducks that got a way when the branch was so high. We all eat dinner at home.

Ben went this evening to meet Jim. Marvin went with him. I went as far as Lee Brumfields. Spent a pleasant evening. Kate Harvey is in Roanoake to see Pearl Wigginton in the hospitle.

Beaula Brumfield is staying with Virginia Harvey.

Jim is here Ok tonight. Carries children was here this evening.

A good day. We had company this morning. Lizzie and Ola & Faber went to Marvins. I went with them. Ben carried us. We went from there to Johnsons. There we eat dinner and then we went to Kate Harveys.

We walked from Marvins to Reynols from there to Harveys. Marvin Smith carried us from there to George Blairs on his car. I walked from there home.

There was preaching at Strait Stone to day. Some of the Odd Fellows went to Lynch Burg this morning and brought 19 girls from the Odd Fellows Home to Strait Stone to preaching. There was dinner on the ground. Enough to feed them and some others.

Henry went to Lee Brumfields and went hazel nut hunting. Mrs. Owen got home from Roanoak to day.

A warm windy day. Rain tonight and getting colde. Ben worked today. He put wire a round the porch to keep Mabel from crawling through. The children went to school. They had an egg hunt.

Josie has done what cooking has bin done. All of us was at Carries this evening. Kate Harvey was there a little while.

There has bin lots of passing here today. Mrs Edmons went to Roanoke this evening. I hope she may get well yet. We looked for Jim home. He has not come yet.
