A good day colde tonight. Ben and Owen hauled logs.

Paul carried Edna and Henry and Reese and I to White Falls. I caught 4 fish and two eels. Josie got dinner. She went to Marvins a little while this evening. I tried to get some meat at Mt Airy this evening. Could not get it.

To night Ben and Owen and Paul went to the barn to put some tobacco in the pit.

A cloudy morning and a little rain this evening. We have a plenty of rain.

Jim & Ben worked on their tobacco until dinner this evening. Ben & Jim went to Chatham. Kate Harvey went with them.

Henry Edna & I went with them as far as Jim Thompsons the we walked to White Falls mills [and] fished. We caught a few fish. We walked back as far Mt Airy Ben brought us home. I paid Ben for the trouble that we were.

Josie ironed most of the morning. This evening Josie and Franklin staid here by them selves.

I milked by the light of the lantern.

A good day. Jim and Ben burnt a plant bed. Jim finished the bed. Ben carried some chickens to Mt Airy for me and then started to Gretna. Was going to Danville tonight. Grace Brumfield went to Danville today.

John Tucker carried some tobacco for Ben & Lee today. Mr Owen carried his cows from here today. Josie ground the sausage and seasoned it. Today I made scrapple. I went to Marvins this evening. Henry and Edna went to school.

I sent 4 roosters and 4 hens to the store.

I have a rooster that John Smith raised. I am to pay three dollars for him.

A good day. Very warm this evening. A thunder cloud now at 8 oclock. Ben plowed today. Jim plowed the garden and worked it with the hoe. Josie and I washed this morning. Josie got dinner. Carrie washed with their new washer. They are pleased with it.

Josie and the children all but Edna went to Marvins.

Josie washed the dineing room floor be fore she went. Reese carried Edna and I to White Falls. I caught three fish. Reese caught one. There was at least a dozen people at the river. I guess all had a good time if they did not get many fish.

The Mt Airy school closed to day.

A cloudy day. We had rain and lightning and thunder last night. Jim and Ben has bin blowing up stumps today. Ben went to Mt Airy for fuse and Josie and all the children went.

We cooked turnip salit for dinner and turnips. We looked for the men that is to put in lights but they did not come.

I went to Marvins a little while. Carrie was makeing Hazel a dress. Virginia Harvey was at Carries to day. She had bin doing some fancy work for Carrie. Josie fixed a nice towel this evening.
