A good day. Ben plowed up the potatoes and Josie picked them up. Ben sowed turnip seed to day. Paul tied some primings. Josie got most of the dinner. I churned went after some tomatoes. After dinner I put up three cans and killed two chickens and cut the cucumbers and put them in brine.

Paul and Thelma went to Dick Woodings to a stew to night. I hope they may have a nice time.

Julia and Henry and Edna are in my room and talk so much that I am in the hall writing.

Chesley Edmons cut a house of tobacco today.

A beautiful day.

Ben & Jim and Owen burned a plant bed & sowed it. Ben & Owen hauled some stalks and cut them for feed. Josie and I ironed and got dinner this evening. I went to Marvins a few minutes. Mr Mayhew is here tonight. They are playing cards.

Josie got a letter from her mother this evening telling her that her sister is not getting on well. I guess that she will go to see her soon.

I got a letter from Thelma Brumfield this evening. She seems to be getting on well.

A good day. Jim & Ben sowed some peas. Ben went to Lee B after them and carried all the children. Henry carried two doz eggs. He bought match and fly powder & chewing gum.

Henry done his first plowing to day. Dr Bennett and Henry Bennett come to see Jim & Ben today.

Josie ironed this morning. I got dinner. This evening I ironed some & then went to the sweet potatoe patch. They are lookin well. I come through Jims tobacco ground. The tobacco is growing some.

A good day. Ben went to Brookneal this morning.

Jim sowed a turnip patch this evening.

Josie got dinner. She killed a chicken and baked pies this evening.

I went to Marvins this evening. Alma Bennett and I staid with the children. Marvin and Carrie went to Strait Stone to preaching. The protracted meeting commenced to day.

Earl and Lizzie Bennett come to Carries this evening. Lizzie come with me home. I am glad that she came.

Edna & Franklin went to Mr Hutchersons by themselves this morning.

A clody day and it is raining tonight. Jim is in Chatham. Ben sowed some wheat and oats today. Mr. Owen stripped tobacco today.

Josie got dinner. We picked up the potatoes this morning and Ben hauled them home this evening.

Bessie Callens (col) washed some & ironed. Anna Callens come to see a bout Bess being here. She let her stay.

I had thought that I would start to Richmond in the morning but it is raining so that I doubt it now.

Ben & Henry & Lucious Gravely went hunting tonight. Guess they will get wet.
