A good day.
Mr Turner staid here last night. I like what I know of him fine. Paul Bennett went to Whittles today. Henry Blair carried Mr Turner to Long Island this morning. Ben and family and I went to George Blairs this evening. They had a lot of company. Earnest and Lottie was there. Lizzie and Earl and Lonnie Bennett come while I was there. Denia was sick. Ethel and Wren and family was there. To night Ben has a head ache. Hope he will be better by morning.

Sunday, September 8, 1918
A cloudy day and some rain. Ben and Paul made fires under the tobacco this morning. Josie and [I] got dinner.
Josie went to Mr Powers this evening. Henry Blair brought Mary and Bill from Long Island to Mrs Hendricks and Josie brought them here. Miss Alice Wooding and Mrs Winston come this evening. Carrie and the children come a few minutes.
Dews and Mayhew and George Hutcherson come and played croquet.

Friday, September 13, 1918
A good day. Ben and Owen moved some tobacco and cut some. I helped to unload the waggon. Ben had Mags Grey and Jake. Paul had Prince and Pomp. Carried some primings to Gretna. He went to Chatham on Henry Blairs car. Josie ironed this morning and was sick all the evening. Mr Owen went to the mill to day but did not get his grinding. Will have to go a gain.

Wednesday, October 30, 1918
A cloudy day and the wind is blowin to night.
Ben and Owen sawed logs to carry to the saw mill. The rest of us stripped tobacco all day. Josie got dinner. Mr Lowel Witcher come and eat dinner with us. Henry Blair come and looked at the tobacco.
Ben and Josie and Paul and Owen put tobacco in the pit tonight. Henry is complaining of a sore throat to night.
It is raining to night hope it will quit soon.

Ben put shoes on Mr Bailiss's horse to day.
Sunday, December 15, 1918
A cloudy bad day. Jim and Ben spent the day walking around. Jim went home this evening. Henry Blair carried him to Gretna. Josie walked over to Kate Harveys this evening for Virginias [calf? cap?]. I staid with Franklin.
Henry and Edna went to Marvins a while this evening.
