years have not passed without my learning something.
I can now define the proposition more accurately so as to close the door against those who would push the doctrine much further than I ever intended; and I can state the reasons for the rule in a manner which must be allowed to be more scientific, more convincing and more definitary than before.

Critical Logic is then to be taken up.
I begin with necessary deduction treating it with as much completeness as possible yet I shall avoid wasting pages upon mere formalisms except so far as their great familiarity entitles then to mention.
I endeavor to include every form of necessary reasoning known to me.
The utility of Abstractions in reasoning which I shall here bring out will be a novelty.
I need hardly say that ordinary syllogistic will be but a small fraction of my doctrine.
The main substance of that need hardly fill a page.
