Norfolk 26th Aug. 1835

Mr. Young,Sir

I noticed in the "Palladium & Republican"
of Aug 22d.
^ a notice addressed to mechanics and laborers- offering
proposals for an imigration to Texas, and referring to
you for information. I am a mechanic - a carpenter
and joiner - and if the terms are acceptable should
like to visit Texas. As for Morality & industry. I
have so far kept clear of the Jail & workhouse. I
do not think it worth while of offer any references
untill I know the terms of ingagement. An immedi-
ate answer is solicited.
