28th One of the Engineers
died and was buried
2nd Oct about 6.15 a.m.
we sighted an island
sticking up like a
big round hump. Later
we sighted about 6
little steamers, so short
that they buck over
each wave. When the
mist cleared we found
ourselves with land
on each side. We passed
through a submarine
net and just inside
there were a couple of
torpedo boats and a
big dreadnought.
