am better of my cold anoyed
very much at night with bugs and lice
oh that I was at liberty Bro Ambler prayed

I preached this afternoon from
Luke 10 Last verse at the close of the Service
a Col steped up to me and Said he was
much pleased with the discorse
he had bean a methodist preacher a (__) man
steped up from Rosencranz army and said
my sermon had aroused him and requested
me to come to his bunk and talk with
him. I did so and learned
that he was at one time a member of the
episcopal church but had back slid
he promised me that he would retrace
his steps and try and doe
better while in conversation with him a
Lieu in the 4th NY Cav who lay next to
him asked if I was a chaplain
being told that I was he said
he wished to talk with me. I called
on him he said my sermon had done him
good. he had not herd as plain
common sense sermon for a long time
I asked him if he was a member
of the church he said no nor never had
bean he was inteligent he promised
me that he would doe better god is
with me to him be all the praise Col
Powell prayed this evening.
