received a letter from Doct. Simpers(?)
requesting me to forward his Servant
and horse to him by Rail way
to New Creek Va herd from our
Reg. they are in Winchester doe not
know when we will leave am in
good health have Some Cold

Thursday 19th Robert Long Chandler
and Andru Smith came to camp
was glad to See them received a
letter from my family the took
dinner with me went down to
see Capt Flag the transportation
officer to See about geting transpor
tation for our Servant and horse
but did not Succeed had an
interview with the Gen on the
subject visited the Indiana
battery Saw to men tied to
the canon which is punishment
for some notation(?) or (__)
am in good health
