Cont. on job. Timber up. Residents of
Fleurbaix told to leave. [Illegible] 15th
bearers off again to trenches. 15th Division
going over at midnight. Some of our men
went to concert at 8th F.A. I went to pictures
with Roy Middlecost. We took shifts at staying
up all night to assist at operating theatre
only half a dozen patients came in. Heavy
bombardment on
[Centre] 29 Tuesday
The attack last night was a failure. The
barbed wire had not been cut. Stretcher
bearers came back at mid-day.
Heavy rain fell during the
evening and increased to a
thunderstorm. Above all the noise
of the stors British Guns sounded
the noise was awful.
[Centre] 30 Wednesday
Finished the roof job. Now trying
to put malthoid on walls. Rain&
wind made conditions miserable.
A.M.C. Comforts given out Salmon
Tomato Sauce Fruit Soap etc.
Again the guns & mortars
played up.
