Solicitor London Alexander Hannah to be proceeded against 117.
Sir, 14th Augt 1858.
With reference to my Letter of yesterday's
date acquainting you that I had taken out a
summonses for the attendance of Mr Hannah the
master of the "Energy" on Friday next the 20th instant
Annexed is a notice from his Solicitor to produce
the Bill of Health which he received at Constantinople
and which he delivered up at Malta. - The defence
to be set up is, I understand - that the name of
William Bulkeley was not on that Bill of Health
nor his Articles - and as the Consul at
Constantinople had failed to make such endorsements
on these documents, he is thereby exonerated, as
it could not be expected that he should remain
at Pera from Saturday evening, the time when
the boy came on board, till Monday morning
in order to obtain such endorsements. _ Will the
Consul Order on Board of Trade from Cl6 meet
these objections. JS.
