Solicitor Customs London. 14th June 1858.
The whole of the expenses were incurred in
getting possession of the Tallow, - or rather its representative
It had been sold to Mr Yates of Beverley who had melted
it down with other Tallow. I therefore called upon him
to deposit with me £15 " 15 " 0 as its substitute which he
did. On the 8th instant I returned him that amount by
an Order from the Board of Trade.

by section 451 M S Act 1854 - Some Tallow had been
brought into Hull by some Fishing Boats which had been
picked up at sea. That circumstance led them to enquire
of Tallow Chandlers and others in Town engaged in the Tallow

through their own diligence alone to have the Wreckers
in question who had so greatly violated the Law. -----
