With reference to my report of 29th March
last apprizing you that the men undernamed had picked
up on the Sea Shore Tallow - which ought to have been
delivered to a Receiver of Wreck - and sold the same for sums
set opposite their respective names ----- viz --------

And with reference to my Report of the 10th
Ulto - to the Solicitor of Customs, - apprizing him for your
information - that the parties had been convicted in the
penalties before mentioned amounting to £26 " 4 - -
To my Letter to him of the 28th Ulto and 24th instant apprizing
him that the said penalties had been paid. - I have only
to add that had it not be for the vigilance of Mr
Catchpole and Mr Davis - the parties would - altogether
have escaped detection. - I therefore have pleasure in
recommending their application for reward for favorable
consideration JS.
