Simpson was received the day ??? ??? (before - 20 days?)
after it was written _ The same day he
received the bill of Fir Lumber for the Light
Keepers dwelling at Cape Foulweather which he
had mailed in San Francisco, 32 days before
to his partner at the Saw mill on Yaquina
Bay which however had been duplicated 3
days before just after Mr. Brown and I
arrived at the bay.
During the 7 days from the time I left Corvallis
for Cape Foulweather till my return it rained
every day. On account of the
failure in the mails the preparations for
landing material had not been made.
As the Tower Cannot be completed before next
fall it seemed on the whole best not to
commence the dwelling as it would be
impossible to enclose it before the rainy season
sets in. Every means is being
used to get all the materials on the site
