Wenham, George

John George Wenham was born in Hull about 1883, son of Thomas and Hannah Wenham. In the 1891 census he was living with his family at 38 Hamilton Street, Grimsby, and was a schoolboy. In the 1901 census he was living with his mother at 11 Rutland Street, Grimsby, and was working as a fish porter.

In the first quarter of 1906 he married Cecilia Capps (GRO, Grimsby, Marriages Mar 1906, 7a 855). In the 1911 census they were living with Cecilia's mother, Sukey Capps, at 116 Chapman St, Grimsby. George was working as a fish dock labourer and they had one child, Cecilia Doris Wenham, who was four years old. They had another child called John G. Wenham in 1912 (GRO, Grimsby, Births Sep 1912, 7a 1082).

There is no evidence that George served in the armed forces in the First World War. His date of death is unknown.
